Cousins swapped New Orleans Pelicans for the Warriors this summer but has yet to feature for his new side because of a long-term injury.
The 28-year-old is expected to make his return over the coming weeks and should be fully fit for the Lakers’ trip north on Boxing Day.
The two teams clashed twice in pre-season with the Lakers coming out on top on both occasions.
However, Luke Walton’s side have had a difficult start to the season with just five wins, compared to the Warriors’ 10.
But Cousins fears with LeBron James in their ranks there is always a likelihood of an upset.
“They got the best player in the world,” Cousins told heavy.com.
They’ve got a chance [of beating the Warriors].
Cousins also spoke highly of his new team-mates for how well they click together, which has shown by winning three Championships in the last four years.
“It’s a team full of high IQs,” he added.
