According to The report, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool must pay a minimum of £50 million to sign Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The Watford powerhouse has reportedly interested both Spurs and Liverpool in recent days
We know that Doucoure would favour a move to Anfield, after admitting earlier this year that it was a 'dream' of his to represent the Reds.
But logically Tottenham is the better fit and the North Londoners must certainly target him in the January transfer window.
With Mousa Dembele seemingly unlikely to sign a new deal, the Belgian, out of contract next summer, will leave on a free transfer as things stand and Doucoure would be an ideal replacement.
The truth is that although the Frenchman might prefer a move to Liverpool, they don't need him.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has an abundance of excellent central midfielders, and the £39 million addition of Fabinho a few months means that the German will hardly spend up to £50 million on another one so soon.
If the Lilywhites and Liverpool are genuinely interested, North London makes a lot more sense than Merseyside. As a Liverpool fan do you think the club really need him?
