Believe it or not but is true all the same. Real Madrid supposedly want Manchester United boss Mourinho to make a sensational Bernabeu return should Lopetegui’s head roll. Recent reports have claimed the Spaniard’s job in the capital is on the line following their surprising
2-1 defeat to Levante on Saturday.
Real Madrid are notoriously trigger-happy - club president Florentino Perez has overseen six managers during his second spell at the club - and will not tolerate mediocrity.
Mourinho, however, will be a tricky appointment. And not just because of how he angered Sergio Ramos and Co during his first stint in charge.
And, as a result, Real will have to pay the Red Devils a massive compensation fee should they act on their interest.
Report says though, that the La Liga giants have found an alternative.
And that man is Belgium boss Roberto Martinez.
Martinez has turned his side into one of the world’s best sides, with Belgium boasting the talents of Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne.
