Messi breaks Madrid's fan wrist during Villareal draw.

The woman who was struck by Lionel Messi's shot on Sunday is a Real Madrid fan says the ball break her wrist as Barcelona were held to a 2-2 draw by Villarreal in La Liga.

Messi's wayward first half strike was caught by Television cameras, which was being palmed away by a woman sat in the home end at El Madrigal, with the cameras regularly cutting back to her when there was a break in play.

But Spanish channel Cuatro have caught up with the person in question, who goes by the name of Raquel and just so happens to be a huge Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo fan.

She also joked that Messi had done it on “purpose” because of her Madrid and Ronaldo tendencies.

Barcelona have been in contact with her to apologise and have reportedly offered her the chance to attend a game at Camp Nou.
