Ronald Koeman has hailed the form of Virgil van Dijk, which has helped Southampton into European contenders in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old was signed by Koeman from Celtic in September and has made 30 appearances in all competitions, with three goals. His central defensive partnership with Jose Fonte has been instrumental in Southampton's rise up the table under Koeman, earning the Netherland international high praise from his National coach.
Koeman told sky sports, "He is strong, he's fast and he is good at short and long passing, and even very good on header, good in shot and free-kick, he's important in the way we build up.
