Man United coach Van Gaal says he has been astonished by Martial's contribution since he joined the club.
All were surprised when United table out a reported £36million to sign the striker from Monaco in last summer, with the fee set to rise over Martial's time with the Red Devils.
However, the Frenchman has so far scored eight goals in 23 appearances in all competitions and the Dutchman is over the moon with his rising.
"Martial is fast developing his career, which makes me over joyed thatnis why he always plays, more than I had imagined before," Van Gaal reveal to the United website.
"I never imagined he would play almost every match because when you are 19-years-old [when he joined] the regular interval of the Premier League is exceptional, which is why I am manifesting pleasure with him."
